When Compulsive Behaviour Becomes a Compulsion

A Self-Help Programme for People with Compulsions

Compulsions are considered tenacious and difficult to treat. However, psychotherapist and compulsion expert Burkhard Ciupka-Schön has long since disproved this common prejudice. In his new book, he presents an innovative self-help programme that affected individuals can use independently, as an accompaniment to therapy or in groups. Drawing on the latest scientific findings and years of practical experience with people suffering from obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), he has developed simple tests and work resources that offer guidance, hope and tools for active change in equal measure. Impressive case studies encourage readers and show that recovery is possible.
