Trinity
Understanding the Christian Belief in God
No one can explain God. We can only explain what believers imagine when they say “God.” There is a wide range of ideas, but not all of them are convincing.
This “doctrine of God” starts with modern secular doubts about God and the arguments of atheists, who strictly deny that God exists. What can be said about “nonetheless” believing in God – even a specific single God, attributing qualities to him and even relying on him?
The second part develops a concise biblical doctrine of God, offering an overview of controversies and commonalities in God’s images in the Bible. The third section is devoted to an exploration of the Trinity: A God in three persons is a challenging concept – even for believers. In conclusion, the book discusses the places where God may be experienced, which can become new narrative locations for the doctrine of God.
